Vision Statement:
Dismantling Systemic Oppression Through an Eco-System Approach:
In envisioning a world where systemic oppression no longer holds sway, our mission is clear and unwavering: We are committed to dismantling the deeply ingrained structures perpetuating inequality and trauma in our society. Our vision is one of profound transformation, realized through an eco-system approach that transcends mere change and ushers in a new era of equity, justice, and well-being.
We aspire to create a future where:
1. Philanthropy Reimagines its Role: Philanthropy transforms from a perpetrator of white supremacy and a savior complex to a catalyst for sustainable change, recognizing and supporting the agency of Black and Indigenous communities.
2. Education Evolves into an Instrument of Liberation: The education system is no longer a site of experimentation but a powerful agent for dismantling systemic inequities and harm. It embraces the leadership, voices, and experiences of GM communities, fostering inclusive environments where all can thrive.
3. Community Wealth Flourishes: An ecosystem of thriving GM-owned businesses, empowered by a network of anti-racist leaders, emerges. These businesses actively participate in the education sector, redirecting financial resources into their communities.
4. Cultural Transformation: The eco-system approach sparks a cultural shift, where GM and white scholars and families alike see Black and Indigenous leadership, dispelling myths and viewpoints that have devalued our communities and people. This transformation extends to the creation of anti-racist schools and eco-systems, opening doors for educators and entrepreneurs from marginalized communities.
5. Justice and Healing Take Root: Communities engage in preventive health measures, children attend schools free from racialized harm, and families cultivate sound financial habits, thus forming the foundation for generational well-being.
Our vision is driven by an unyielding commitment to liberation, a future where Black and Indigenous communities are recognized and celebrated as architects of their own destinies. This is our pledge, a clarion call for all to join us in pursuing a world where systemic oppression is dismantled, equity prevails, and justice, inclusion, and well-being thrive within an ecosystem of change.

What Our Community And Partners Have To Say About GMC
The solution is thoughtful and demonstrates an understanding of the systemic racism that permeates American values with disregard for Black culture, education, business development and wealth-building success. If they can succeed in bringing the idea to full scale on a national level, they will have an opportunity to change the game with positive impact.

Education is one of the pillars of public health that has the potential to truly impact the quality of life of an individual. The proposal GMC has put forth targets the root cause of marginalized communities in being able to take ownership of their future. The solution has one school underway already that has shown impact and this has the potential to influence at the higher levels of education related policies and importance of training and retaining teachers of color..

What is most impressive about this proposal is that it is unapologetically Black, with intention. Such an attitude bodes well in representing Black people. It is imperative for Black leaders to make their position/stance noted with boldness. And, certainly, "anti-racist leaders" and the development of leaders who are truly seeking reciprocal justice for children, families and communities of color is commendable. .
