Problem:
Reproductions of colonial hierarchal education systems that replicate systemic oppression and continued trauma.
Proposed Solution:
In order to become an anti-racist state we must develop and accelerate a teacher pool that mirrors our GM population and cultivates anti-racist educators. Through a partnership with local Universities and Colleges, together we will provide anti-racist training in a cohort model. We will partner with funders to have their college tuition paid after four years years of service in a certified anti-racist school; creating sustainability and consistency. Teachers will be a part of a lifelong community where they are supported with fellowship opportunities, affinity groups, financial literacy, home ownership support, and mental health support.
